It's a product hunt On the Amazon Business. Does this mean
that you have opened your store on Amazon, how do you do it? We discussed all
this in lecture 01. The store is now open, we need to find a product to sell.
Let's find what to sell on Amazon? I would like to dispel a few misconceptions
here. When Amazon came to Pakistan, many people said we have factories for
shoes, and garments, we are making handmade products, can we sell on Amazon? My
recommendation is please do not sell these products. If your product meets these
parameters, do not sell your product on Amazon objections. So, let's begin.
What products should and should not be sold on Amazon? You need to know; that
any product sold should not weigh more than half a kg. Try to make it as easy
as possible because it will be beneficial for you. There's a reason for that.
Since we operate from Pakistan, the business model we have chosen to work on
Amazon is called FBA, which means "Fulfillment by Amazon". We deliver
our inventory to Amazon's warehouse and once we receive an order, it is
Amazon's responsibility to deliver that order. When we are going to send huge
inventory to Amazon warehouse and we prefer to work on air freight products. So
whenever we talk about air, we should make sure that our products are small in
volume and light in weight. You must remember that the work should be done with
light products.
Then, whatever product you are going
to sell, first look at how many people are selling the same product and how
many people are selling, how good is their social profile? Now you ask what is
a social profile? Social profile means how many reviews do they have? What is
their rating? I believe if you want to work in the USA then the average rating of your competitor
should be around 700-800.m Sorry but reviews should be around 700-800 and
ratings should be 4.5 and above. Please note the difference between ratings and
reviews. Many people come in and only give star ratings from 1 to 5 stars. If a
product has 4.5 stars, it means that it is a good product and has fewer returns
and refunds. Likewise, if there is a product with 3 stars or 2.5 stars (I'm
talking about the average of competitors on page 1), know that people are not
satisfied with the product and there is a higher chance of returns.
Another point to keep in mind is
whenever you are researching a product, does it fall under 'dangerous good'?
for example, are there any chemicals in it? Or is it battery-powered? Which are
considered dangerous goods because there is a possibility of explosion or fire.
And as I talked about fragile, you should avoid glass products because there is
a chance that they will break during shipping, and even if Amazon ships this
product, there is a chance of return because the customer can get many products
in damaged condition. Whatever product you sell, try to make it $20+ and your
profit margin should be around 25%. This means that if you are making a 25%
profit on the product, you should sell it.
Then we need to see the product we
are going to sell, does Amazon require any certification for it? For example,
if you sell any health-related product, Amazon will ask you for certain
certifications. This could give you a complex scenario that will be difficult
for a newbie. If I explain it technically, there are gated and ungated
categories on Amazon. If you want to work in a closed category, you must get
approval from Amazon, called "pre-approval," and you must provide any
certifications that Amazon requires. Then you need to figure out what is the
keyword? A keyword is a kind of name for your product. It's the name people use
to search for your product on Amazon. The actual name may be different, but we consider
keywords ‘the sum of words that people search on Amazon. So, you also have to
see the keyword that you are using, how many people are searching through that
keyword?
For example, if you say that I have
a shoe factory and we also manufacture ‘Khussa’ and I wanted to sell Khussa on
Amazon. It is now important for you to know how many Khussa buyers are there on
Amazon. How would you know how many people are looking for it? Well, that is
related to search volume. Which we call ‘keyword search volume’. How many
people are searching for your product name? If the search volume is good, you
should work on it. But search volume is not the only criterion. For the product
let me tell you an easy formula. The product that you are going to sell should
be low competition, high demand, and high-profit margins.
If your product meets these three
parameters then good. There are also other parameters that I have explained
earlier like it should be lightweight, non-fragile, and not a dangerous good. You should also check whether your
product is trendy or not? Like a trend starts, the sale gets boosted and then
all down and the inventory that you have stocked is all useless. Avoid
fashion-related products as fashion keeps coming and going. Like jeans and
t-shirts, fashion keeps on changing. So, if you have a lot of stock and fashion
gets outdated, your product won't sell. Also, don’t work on seasonal products
like their sale is high in summer, but not in winter. For example, if you
chose to sell an ice cube bucket, people will buy it in the summer, but what
will you do in winter? We have to select products that are
for all seasons and have consistent revenue and sales. To sell any product you
should also know whether that product is patent or not?
If you are selling a patent design
product then there could be a problem for you and your account could be
suspended. So, it is very important to know all these things. Another thing that we Pakistanis
have is that we look to sell only the products that we are manufacturing. Well,
that will not happen. You must keep in mind all these parameters, another very
important thing I want to share; your product should not be expiry-related. You
must not sell any item that requires expiry. Because at times inventory is in
stock for a longer period on Amazon and it gets expired and that inventory will
be useless for you. Don’t sell food items as you know they all have expiry. There
are lots of other products that have an expiry, for example, you have a tire
factory and you want to sell cycle or tractor tires. First thing first, this product
is out of our parameters (I am just quoting this for sake of example). Tires do
have an expiry date. So, you don’t just sell any product with an expiry date as
if the product stay gets over the limit, then there will be a problem for you.
Now, I have discussed the basic parameters
with you. Whatever you are going to sell on Amazon, get your product filtered
through these parameters. If you feel that your product is in high demand, has
low competition, and has a high-profit margin, then you must sell it. These are
the basic parameters/criteria. Now you will say that you have applied so many
filters on products please guide us from where we are going to get so many
ideas. For ideas, there are many easy ways. Go to Amazon, find bestsellers and
click it. Start exploring new products. Find bestsellers on Ali Express. You
can find it by writing bestsellers in the search bar on Amazon or Ali Express. You
will get many great ideas on Amazon, Ali Express, and Ali Baba. You will start
getting many ideas then move from one product to the other and then so on. We
also use another method where we go to ‘store friends’ of people who are
selling and start spying on their products and see what else they are selling.
Other than this there is a website watchcount.com which is related to eBay. It
will show the watch count means which product is searched most by people.
After this, you can get ideas from the generic keywords of Amazon. If I type
Organic in the search bar bamboos appear if type a spoon then I may get a
bamboo spoon, teaspoon, collapsible spoon, and travel spoon, hence Amazon will show
me all generic results against the spoon.
Also, we use the minus string method
in which by pressing the minus button we type some keywords and get many ideas.
The best method that I found is to go to alibaba.com and type bestsellers of
2021 and search it. You will get a useful filter in that ‘country wise’ means
suppliers are from which country. You select Pakistan from that list and find a
product you can export to America or Europe. So, these are some of the
ideas and techniques that I have shared with you. Now I will tell you to get
ideas from other methods that are with the help of tools. For product hunting
at Amazon, we use a few tools. The most important tool is helium 10 and it has
a sub-tool named x-ray, we use Frankenstein, Magnet, and Black B. These are all
sub-tools of helium 10. Then we use the chrome extension of Jungle Scout. We
use market intelligence of Viral Launch. From these tools, we get the data of
competitors and how much they are selling? Is their sale consistent? Are their
reviews consistent? This is very important.n You are searching for any product,
if its sale is not consistent, don’t sell it.n Why? because if only two people
are bringing the sale, which is called a ‘dominant brand product’, you must not
sell these products. And if you feel that your 1st-page
competitor’s data has Amazon in the list (as a seller) then you should also
avoid such products. Because where Amazon sells, your sale chance declines. You also need to see whether reviews
are consistent and revenue is consistent.
While typing a keyword, keep in
consideration that your keyword should not be a longtail keyword. Work on
short-tail keywords like bamboo straws and please don’t use silicon collapsible
washable reusable straws. This will be a long keyword and usually, customers
don’t buy long keywords. You should think about being a buyer as to what
customers would type. So, just like this, we get the data from the tools, then
we also get much data like helium 10, (I am talking about ideas here). So, you
come to Helium 10 and then to Black Box. It will ask what you want to search for? Then
you will apply all the filters like the product within the range of $20, rating
4.5, review count around 500-600, and generate certain revenue.
Let me tell you another thing here,
whatever product you are hunting for example if we talk about the U.S.A., the
product must be generating $20,000. Many trainers would recommend $10,000. I do
tell some for $10,000 means at least the average sale should be $10,000. It all
depends on your capital and the amount that you have in your pocket. If you
play on a higher budget, there will be high-risk but high profit as well. So,
you can consider $10,000 as well. If you are working in the UK then your
competitor's average revenue should be £6,000.
So, these are some of the ideas. You
got some ideas from Black Box. Just like this, how would you know ‘what is the
search volume of your keyword’? You can get this from the sub-tool
‘Magnet’. The benefit of this tool is as
you search your keyword on merchant word, not only it will share the search
volume of your keyword but also share the details of all the relevant keywords.
So, we do data collection in two types. One is done with the help of tools and
the other is done manually. How would we know manually? Obviously if you right any
keyword you will get results on the entire page
and from there you can check reviews
and ratings, how much competition is there, and what is the average selling
price? Is it $20 or not? There is another important thing,
whatever keyword you have entered, you must see whether the results are similar
or not. Manually, we also make an excel sheet where we enter the complete data of
competitors and monitor their prices, sale, and BSR. We perform the same
activity with the help of tools. In the end, we merge these spreadsheets and
decide whether we are going to sell this product or not. I hope you have
understood all that to sell on Amazon, and what processes you have to go through.
Make a spreadsheet and analyze that product for at least one month by using
manual product hunting and by collecting data from tools. The better your
product research is, the chances of loss are lower. Otherwise, the failure
ratio on Amazon is 95%. So, I have communicated everything to you. Usually, on
Youtube, it is all theoretical and if you want to learn practically from me;
sir please show us the practical, then you have to join our paid course.
Now you will ask about the fee for
our paid course, which I will not tell you because you have to pass a few very
strict parameters to join our paid course. First, you have to book your
appointment and get an interview time. Your interview will be conducted, and if
you pass, you can register for the physical or online class. To
reserve your seat for the interview, below is the manager`s number, call now.
Any questions related to this video, you can ask them in the comment section. I will
answer that for you. As per your humbling request, we have started free-of-cost
training for Virtual Assistants. consider the keywords "the sum of the
words people search for on Amazon." So you also need to see the keyword
you are using, how many people are searching for that keyword? For example, if you say I have a shoe factory and we also
manufacture 'Khussa' and I wanted to sell Khussa on Amazon. Now you need to know how many buyers of Khussa there are on Amazon. How do you know
how many people are searching for it? Well, it has to do with search volume.
This is what we call "keyword search volume". How many people are
searching for your product name? If the search volume is good, you should work
on it. However, search volume is not the only criterion. For the product, let
me tell you a simple formula. The product you are going to sell should have low
competition, high demand, and high-profit margins.
If your product meets these three
parameters, then very good. There are also other parameters that I explained
earlier like it should be light, non-fragile, and non-hazardous. You should also check if your
product is trendy or not? As a trend starts, sales pick up, and then everything
goes down and the stock you have in stock is useless. Avoid products related to
fashion as fashions come and go all the time. Just like jeans and t-shirts, fashion
is always changing. So if you have a lot of inventory and the fashion goes out
of date, your product won't sell. Also, don't work on seasonal products as
their sales are high in summer but not in winter. For example, if you decided
to sell a bucket of ice cubes, people will buy it in the summer, but what will
you do in the winter? We need to choose products that are for all seasons and
have consistent revenue and sales. If you want to sell any product, you should
also know whether that product is patented or not?
If you are selling a product with a
patented design, this may be a problem for you and your account may be
suspended. So it is very important to know all these things. Another thing we Pakistanis have is
that we try to sell only the products we make. Well, that's not going to
happen. You have to keep in mind all these parameters, another very important
thing I want to share; your product should not be related to expiration. You
may not sell any item that requires expiration. Because sometimes inventory on
Amazon is in stock for a long time and will expire and that inventory will be
of no use to you. Don't sell foods because you know they all have expiration
dates. There are plenty of other products that have expiration dates, for
example, you have a tire factory and you want to sell tires for bikes or
tractors. First of all, this product is out of our parameters (just for
example). Tires have an expiration date. So you don't just sell any product
with an expiry date, as if the balance of the product exceeds the limit, then
there will be a problem for you.
I have now discussed the basic parameters with
you. Whatever you sell on Amazon, filter your product through these parameters.
If you feel that your product is in high demand, has low competition, and has a high-profit margin, then you need to sell it. These are the basic
parameters/criteria. Now you will say that you have applied so many filters to
the products, please guide us from where we get so many ideas. There are many
easy ways for ideas. Go to Amazon, find bestsellers and click on them. Start
researching new products. Find bestsellers on Ali Express. You can find it by
typing bestsellers in the search field on Amazon or Ali Express. You can get
many great ideas on Amazon, Ali Express, and Ali Baba. You start getting many
ideas, then move from one product to another, and so on. We also use another
method where we go 'save friends' of people who are selling and they start
spying on their products and see what else they are selling. In addition, there
is a website called watchcount.com which is related to eBay. It will show the
number of watches, which means which product people are searching for the most.
Then you can get ideas from general Amazon keywords. Like if I type Organic in
the search box and bamboo comes up, and if I type spoons, then I can get a bamboo
spoon, teaspoon, folding spoon, and travel spoon, so Amazon will show me all the
generic results against the spoon.
We also use the minus chain method,
in which we press the minus button to enter keywords and get many ideas. The
best method I have found is to go to alibaba.com and type in 2021 bestsellers
and search for them. You get a useful filter in that "by country"
means which country the suppliers are from. You select Pakistan from this list
and find a product you can export to America or Europe. So, these are some
of the ideas and techniques that I have shared with you. Now I will tell you to

competitors and how much they sell? Are their sales consistent? Are their
reviews consistent? This is very important.n You are looking for any product,
if its sales are not consistent, don't sell it.n Why? because if only two
people are bringing in a sale that is called a "dominant brand
product" you are not allowed to sell those products. And if you feel that your
competitor's listing on page 1 has Amazon listed (as a seller), then you should
also avoid such products. Because where Amazon sells, your chances of making a
sale decrease. You also need to see if the reviews
are consistent and if the revenue is consistent.
When entering a keyword, keep in
mind that the keyword should not be a longtail keyword. Work on short tail
keywords like bamboo straws and please don't use silicone collapsible washable
reusable straws. This will be a long-tail keyword and customers usually don't
buy long-tail keywords. You should think about being a buyer and what customers
would write. So, like this, we get data from instruments, then we also get a
lot of data like helium 10 (I'm talking about ideas here). So you get to Helium
10 and then the Black Box. It will ask what do you want to search for? Then you
use all the filters as a product in the $20 range, 4.5 ratings, around 500-600
reviews, and generate some income.
Let me tell you one more thing here,
whatever product you are looking for, for example, if we are talking about the
US, the product must generate $20,000. Many trainers would recommend $10,000. I
tell someone that at $10,000, that means at least the average sale should be
$10,000. It all depends on your capital and the amount you have in your pocket.
