Amazone Business Traning:
we are again going to start theoretical training for Virtual Assistants. And if you possess the right intellect level, I am sure that you do not have to join our paid course and you can start your Amazon Business by learning from this course. Even if you do not have enough investment, after learning this course you will be able to serve people as a Virtual Assistant. So, let's move to the topic. Today is our 1st topic, in which we get to know What is Amazon? and how can we start working on it? Amazon is an E-commerce platform where you open your shop (that is your account) and sell your products. It is the same as you see shopping malls in the country, like Packages Mall and Emporium Mall in Lahore, and Centaurus Mall in Islamabad, and you will also find many malls in Karachi.
You would have seen many different shops and brands in the mall. Similarly, Amazon is a mall, where many brands sell their products. And when we sell our product with our own name, we will also be considered a brand. So, in simple words, to work on Amazon you will have to open your shop on Amazon. In easy words, you have to open your account on Amazon. After that account opening, you will display your products on Amazon. In Amazon terms, product displaying is called product listing. Just like any shop has racks, there is a list on Amazon. Whichever product you want to buy, you click on it and add it to your cart, make payment, and leave and that product is delivered to you at your home.
Now, how can we create an account on Amazon? As we see, account creation on Amazon is relatively easy but there are some policies and restrictions by Amazon that frustrates you at times as despite fulfilling everything, your account does not get activated. The first thing you need to know is whenever you are going to create an account on Amazon, which type of account should it be? Just like you go to the bank, they will ask you which type of bank account you want to open? Is it a current account or savings account or any other type of account?
You should know that there are two types of selling plans on Amazon. No. 1 is an individual selling plan and No. 2 is a professional selling plan. First, we will discuss the individual selling plan. If you sign up for your account on an individual selling plan, the first benefit you will get is that there is no subscription fee which generally Amazon charges on monthly basis. On the other hand, there is the disadvantage of it which is, you cannot sell your brand on an individual selling plan and Amazon will also charge a commission of $0.9 on each sale which is other than the FBA fee So, lets now discuss the other pattern, the second selling plan which is Professional Selling Plan.
When you sign up Professional Selling Plan, you can sell products with your name/brand name. When we talk about Professional Selling Plan, Amazon will charge a fixed monthly subscription fee which is $39.99 which will be exchanged into your local currency as per your selected country. Let me share something interesting with you, you can launch your brand in two different ways. There are two modes in Professional Selling Plan. First is Individual and second is Business. Let me clarify one thing here, please do not mix Individual under Professional Selling Plan with the Individual Selling Plan.
That is totally separate which we have already discussed and closed. Now we are discussing the Professional Selling Plan under which you can make two types of accounts No.1 is a Business Account and No. 2 is Individual Account. So, if you are going to sign up with Individual Account, you will have to share all of your personal information with Amazon and if you are signing up for a Business Account, you will have to share your business credentials with Amazon.
Let me explain it more. If you are signing up for Individual Account you will need, you should have a valid computerized CNIC (the one with the chip), your bank statement, your email ID, and your mobile number, and you should also have Meezan bank, Faysal bank, or any other bank`s debit or credit card. There are a few banks in which credit cards are accepted and there are others in which debit cards are accepted at Amazon. So whatever bank card you are using, you will get to know whether Amazon is accepting that or not. So, we will not go into bank details as we are just getting an overview here.
So, I have mentioned all the things that are required for the Individual Account. To sign up for Individual Account, Amazon will require two more things from you. Just like I have explained debit and credit cards to you, there are two methods, one Charged Method and the other Deposit Method. While signing up for the account, you must provide these two pieces of information to Amazon. Charged Method means, you have to share those card/bank details with Amazon, from which they can charge money
that is your monthly subscription
fee.
If you decide to do some advertisement on Amazon, they can charge you for that. Simply, any money you Owed to Amazon will be deducted via Charged Method. Meezan and Faysal bank debit cards do work for this purpose and Amazon will charge you through that when you sign up for the account. Again, Amazon will not charge on Individual Selling Plan but on Individual Plan under Professional Selling Plan it will charge you $39.99 per month.
Now you know what Charged Method is. The second method is Deposit Method. If Amazon has to pay you against the product that you have sold on Amazon, on which account it should pay you here you will have to share your bank account details. But, if you are signing up from Pakistan, then currently Amazon is not allowed direct deposit into your bank. For this purpose, you will have to induct another bank in the middle, which is also called Virtual Bank. For example, Payoneer, Hyper Wallet, etc. you will need such sources where money is first deposited in those accounts and then into your bank account. Now come to Business Plan under Professional Selling Plan. In Business Plan, you will have to share your business details. If you are operating from Pakistan, you should have Pvt Ltd. Company.
You will have to share business credentials, share Charged Method and Deposit Method, email ID, contact number, bank statement, and share all the information of company directors. After providing all the information, Amazon will congratulate you on your successful account creation. Once the account is created, you will be happy that it is now created and we can use it but, it is not like that. Once you will enter your seller center you will see that account goes into verification. Once your account is in the verification stage, Amazon will require some documents for verification and identity proof.
So, if you are an individual, it will ask for a utility bill and/or CNIC/passport. So, you will share scanned copies of these documents. Many Pakistanis are making the same mistake which is when submitting CNIC copies, they are submitting mobile pictures which Amazon is rejecting. So, when submitting an ID card, you will separately scan the front and back sides of the ID card and upload it. If you are submitting a passport, then you have to scan it as a book, where you will scan the first page and then the second page which is the signed part. So, this is how you will submit these two documents. For utility bills, you can use electricity bills and/or PTCL bills.
Once you will submit the correct documents, your account will be successfully verified just like so many Pakistanis are now getting their accounts verified. Same in Business Plan, you will share business details and company registration documents as proof with Amazon and any other document that Amazon asks for. Remember one thing, Amazon is very simple only if you keep it simple. It is we who make situation complex. For example, if Amazon asks for an ID card, we suddenly get confused and upload pictures that are taken from a mobile camera, which Amazon will reject as Artificial Intelligence and robots are working on Amazon's side and we have to completely abide by instructions. Keep these things in mind and take your time to sign up for your Amazon account.
Now, here comes a new situation. You have signed up for Individual Plan under Professional Plan and now your business has grown and you want to shift your brand to a company. For this, you can at any time, switch from an Individual to Business Plan. How? You will have to undergo a text interview. Do not worry, it is very simple. You will find a text interview button and press it then you will be asked about your company details. Once you have shared all the details and saved them your account will be switched from Individual to Business. I would recommend that you should start from Individual Account and not from Business Account.
Once your brand is established, you can always switch to Business Plan. The benefit of switching to a Business Plan is that you can have your brand registry and trademark easily and as per my knowledge as I was talking to some consultants in the U.S Amazon has now started giving trademarks to individuals which were surprising to me So if you have a trademark with you, you can have a brand registry by using a trademark. What is a brand registry? Since it is our first lecture, you will get to know all the details about ‘how to get a brand registry?’ in upcoming lectures. So, today's topic was about types of Amazon accounts and their basics and now you also know how can you switch from Individual to Business.
Here comes another question. Both Individual and Business come under Professional Plan and even if we have not even sold a single unit, we are still being charged $39.99 per month. Can we avoid it? The answer is ‘yes’ it can be avoided.
For this, you have to downgrade your current Professional Selling Plan to Individual Selling Plan. How can you downgrade or upgrade? If you have your seller center open go to settings and then account info on the right bottom of the page you will see the ‘downgrade your account option. If you click it you will be downgraded from Professional Selling Plan to Individual Selling Plan. But if you see an upgrade option there it means you are already on Individual Selling Plan and you can switch to Professional Selling Plan at any time.
There is also a very important tab at the bottom of the page which is ‘User Permission’. This is very important for all Virtual Assistants since our course is all about Virtual Assistants. You must have heard about ‘Child Account Access. There is no child account word on Amazon, instead, there is user permission. So, if you get any client, he/she will not share login/password with you instead, they will give you child account access by clicking on the user permission button. Here the client will enter your email ID and name. An email will be sent to your email ID with steps to follow to get limited access to your client`s seller central. The access is to be controlled by the client and he can give you access as per the requirement you may only get PPC access, inventory management access, account handling access payments management access, or returns access.
So, in short, your client will give you access as per the contract/agreement between both parties. This was our lecture No. 1 of Amazon Virtual Assistant Training which you can also say is an overview and I hope that you would have a complete understanding of things. What are the Amazon account types and how can a Virtual Assistant can get access to their client account for which we use the word ‘user permission’ which is also known as ‘child account access.
I hope that you have learned everything. If you have any questions, do ask that in the comment section below. This all is just a theory and its practice is done under our ‘paid course’ which is started from first Monday of each month. If you want to sign up for the paid course, before you ask for the course fee, you will have to undergo an interview. So, if you want to register yourself for an interview slot, below are the manager's contact details book your slot now so that your interview can be conducted and you can be told about what Amazon is for you.
